Our world of happy hineys

In the last few weeks we have been up to our backsides in changes around the Chandler household.

Before I had Eli I really wanted to use cloth diapers. I hate that there are so many chemicals in disposables against my little mans skin and I also wanted to do my part of helping the environment. Well back then we didn't. We went with disposables and god knows how many dollars later I have decided to make the change. So Kai now wears cloth diapers. They are so cute on his little bum and come in so many bright colors. I have to say his little diaper butt is pretty cute! They are really easy to use and so soft. I cant believe I took so long to make the switch. I am sure Kai is really digging them too. He hasn't had any rashes and he just seems more comfortable.

You may have noticed by now that I haven't mentioned how Eli likes them. Well that's because Eli no longer wears a diaper of any sorts! That's right, at a mere 26 months old Eli is potty trained! I honestly wasn't sure if we could do it. I say we cause I wasn't sure Brian and I would hold up during training. But here we are! It was a messy few days with a lot of accidents, but by the 3rd day we were doing great!

I am so proud of my little guy. Way to go BIG BOY!

Signs of life

My garden has sprouted some signs of life! The spinach has already broken trough.

Mothers day weekend

Saturday we got a new bike trailer for the boys and they love riding in it. So much so that Kai falls asleep everytime we go somewhere in it! Eli loves that he is on a bike ride, he is itching to get his own just cant work pedels yet. Saturday late aternoon we went and rode about 8 miles on the Centenial Trail. It was really peaceful and I love that the trail cuts through all this forest area. It's shaded, and so quit, you can really just breathe out there.

Sunday Brian made me my favorite blueberry pancakes for breakfast and then we rode over to my moms house (10.5 miles round trip) to drop off her mothers day cards. the rest of the day was spent grilling in the backyard and just being lazy. It was nice to not have anything planned and get to just relax and spend time with my boys, all three of them!

Oh and Eli ate crn on the cob for the first time last night. He loves it!

Adventures in baby eating

Kai was a slow starter to this whole eating business so we took a week off after many failed attempts. I guess it was just what he needed cause now he is chow hound! I'm glad too cause I was beginning to think he didnt like my home cooking! I have a good start of baby food made already, but I need to get my blender in shape as it will be getting a workout here in the future cause we have so many new flavors to try! Oh and my silly boy is so independant that he likes to feed himself most of the time rather than have mommy do it. He sure is growing up!

Sidwalk art

Eli got to experience the great joy of sidewalk chalk yesterday. I even had a blast drawing on the walkway in our backyard. The weather is supposed to be nice again so I am sure sometime today we will finish our masterpiece!
