New patio

Since the big dig we have had a messy yard. Now with Brian taking a "break" (HA!) from work we are getting around to fixing the mess. First step expanding the old sinking patio.

National Bike to Work day

I bike most days but today is the national day when we try to get more people out of their cars and onto 2 wheels. Since I don't go to work till the afternoon and the festivities were this morning, I decided to pack up the boys (jammies and all) and head to the center of town. There were lots of interesting people there, some free schwag, and the boys got to run around like fools. What a great start to our morning, and all this before 8:30!

kartwheel kid

Jayda had to do 500 kartwheels in order to raise money for her gymnastics school. She had over $200 in pleges. Brian, the boys and I headed down to the mall to cheer her on.

Girls night out

My friend Melissa always has a "Girls night" once every year. This year we went bowling (this was a couple weeks ago). We went to this tiny little 6 lane alley, the score keeping was still done with paper and pencil! It was a awesome place and an awesome night!

The poo poo present

SO after a year of being pee trained we were having no success with Eli learning to go poo in the potty. He would always wait till night time and then go in his pullup. Brian and I decided that it was time to take charge and we took away the pullups.

First we made a huge deal of being a bigboy and had him throw all his pullups in the garbage. He knew that he wouldnt have them anymore ever. Then we went to target and he got to pick out whatever he wanted in the toy section. We explained that he could have this present only after he went poo in the potty. we took it out of the box and set on a shelf in the bathroom. for the next 2 days he talked none stop about this present. The first night he had a accident in his pants. we cleaned him up and explained again about being a big boy and going in the toilet. He repeated all this to me and said he would. The next day before bed he told us that he had to go potty and we got him to the bathroom and sure enough he earned his treasured present. He decided to take it to bed with him that night. he had it tight in his hands all night.

We have had a few slip ups since but I really think that we are taking steps in the right direction.
