Eli tells a joke

Tonight at dinner we were all talking around the table and asking about our days when Eli volunteered a joke, his first joke ever!

E: knock knock
Me: Who's there?
E: Leaf
Me: Leaf who?
E: Leaf early or you will be late.

Insert insanly wild laughing here!

He got me flowers!

a rare sight in this house (hint, hint) but they sure brightened my already bright day. I got a job! Its only part time but it will sure go along way to getting us back to normal around here. I am very excited and ready to start. Thank you for the roses my love!

Brew fest!

Happy birthday to my dear sweet husband. his birthday was back on March 29Th but we just got around to using his gift for the first time. I got the beer loving man his own home brewing setup. I figure what the heck I grow and can my own veggies, why cant he make and drink his own beer? What fun this has been and we still are not done. So far we have brewed and fermented and moved into the holding carboy. today we will prepare the bottles and carbonate the beer and bottle it. Few more weeks and we can taste the fruits of our labor.

Waiting for the water to boil. I think he believes if you stare at it you can will it to brew faster!

All the yummy goodness! grains and flavoring and stuff

wait for some more boiling!

Malt syrup

Now we are getting somewhere!starting to look, and smell like beer

Adding hops

Time to cool down. There is a copper spiral tube that we run cold water through and it brings the temperature of the brewing beer (around 160 degrees) down to around 85 degrees. Looks kinda like a weird science project

now we ferment!

Happy Birthday Jayda!

Jayda is NINE! when the heck did that happen? So grown up already. She had her birthday party at the skating rink so it was going to be a first for the boys. never have they stepped foot on ice let alone on two little blades! I was surprised at how ell they did and how much they enjoyed themselves. A definite great family day.

Birthday girl with her special Michael Jackson cake!

Proof that nine year old girls still love barbie!

The whole Birthday party crew!

I hope your day was filled with fun and that everything was perfect for you. I had a great time baking and decorating your cake. thank you for letting me make your day special.

Taking the train

Looking for a cheap fun thing to do in Seattle. Take the train to the airport! Eli had a blast and mommy did too. didn't cost us much but was worth every penny in the smiles on his face.

Eli plays soccer

okay so in the beginning of March (yes I know its the middle of April) Eli started in a program called Kids Love Soccer. Its a intro to the game and the kids learn all the skills needed to be on the team. They learn how to dribble the ball with their feet, little kicks and big kicks, team work and most important scoring a goal! This was Eli's first group sport and with his behavior we were more than a little nervous that this could be a disaster! he did fine for the most part but some days were a challenge to get him to participate, especially the day it rained REALLY hard and there were puddles to splash in everywhere. Wish I had my camera that day, but of course I had it the others.

Check out the champ!
