Anyone who is anyone knows of Eli's love of all things "Cars" we could watch that movie 10 times a day and he would still want more. He loves all of his "Cars" toys and all the opther swag But imagine what it must have been like for him to actually get to see Mater and touch and climb on him and all. I think he was in heaven!

This picture isnt the greatest as it was a scanned photo, but its the only one that contained the whole family!

We saw Mater at the Evergreen State Fair spring fair. It was a blast and Eli got to go on the rides which just makes Eli year! He is still talking about the tiger a day later.

some shower fun

Since birth both the boys have always taken showers rather than baths. It was just easier for Brian and I. the outcome is that we have 2 boys who love to splash in the shower and have the water rain on thier face. The boys love taking "bubbles" and it makes for some easy clean up for dad and mom.

Oh and the toothbrush? Killing two birds with one stone!

In living color

Time for the tulips! Spring is in full bloom in the skagit vally and the draw of the flowers got us there. Never can you imagine what row upon row of vivid color can look like in person, you just have to see it. The smell in the air, Its just stunning.

Everything seemed to be going really well on this trip. we made it all day without cranky, whiney kids, eeryone was having a great time smelling the tulips, splashing in a few puddles here and there (it is Wasington after all) and then Kai got a little to gusto with his splashing and ended up ass deep in a slick mud hole. At least we had a second set of clothes. And Kai seemed to be loving the mud and was ready to dive in again. UGH, boys!

playdate with Colton

Eli has a new friend. His name is Colton. He is the son of a old coworker of mine. Eli and Colton have had the chance to meet up and play a handful of times in the last month or so and Eli so looks forward to seeing Colton. He evens asks if he can call him on the phone. So Cute!

Here are some pics from that last time we met up. Side note: I am always so impressed with how they play together. they takes turns being it and playing tag, even Kai trys to join in. Its funny how such young boys can already get the concept of playing tag even though they have never actuaaly played it or been taught. Are kids just born with these skills?

Shhhhhhhhh, I'm hunting Easter eggs!

We braved the wind and the cold and made it out to the local Easter egg hunt. Eli knew what to do this year and as soon as the fire truck siren went off he was running! Kai only stopped to grab two eggs, one for each hand. once all the eggs were in our basket (E-8, K-2) we made our way back to the car and blasted the heat. Ah, Happy Spring!

Later at home we dyed some hard boiled eggs. What a mess, but so much fun!

I wonder if my breakfast eggs are jealous of the dye job?

So in my infinate wisdom I decided to throw Brian a surprize party for his birthday. I worked hard planning, orchastrating and throwing a great party for Brian. So many family and friends came to celebrate with us and Brian was thrilled. A special thank you to those that came from long distances to be there. It truly means so much to us that you care so much.
