Party Time!

Eli's 3rd birthday party was yesterday. The weather was the warmest all year (almost 70) and people were getting a bit sunburnt even, not bad for March huh?

Eli loves the movie cars, so I made him a special birthday banner and cake to go with the theme. He got lots of new cars toys, a basketball hoop, a easel for drawing and painting and some much needed summer clothes.

We had family over and Eli's BFF Vinny. Everyone had a great time and the kids had a blast in the bouncy house! I couldnt have asked for a better day. Thank you everyone for sharing in the celebration with us.

Recess Monkeys

Since Eli's party wasn't for another week we wanted to do something special for him. I got a email saying his favorite band Recess Monkeys was doing a local show I knew I had the prefect way to spend the day.

Recess Monkeys are a group of grade school teachers who love music and started a band. They play music aimed at the preschool and elementary school age groups, but thier music will have moms and dads tapping thier toes too. Its silly but Eli and I are total fanatics!

Here is the post from our first visit to see them.

Later we went to Red Robin for dinner and after we ate Eli got a birthday treat from the staff. He loved having happy birthday sang to him. This is beig deal stuff when your 3!

The big dig

So we had a bit of a problem. Okay a really big problem! The only way to fix this problem was to dig up ou yard, our septic tank, and lay all new pipes and connect to city sewer. It was a mess (in more ways than one) and I am so glad that it is all finished. Greanted our yard is a big mud pit now. But hey we were thinking of putting in a new lawn anywya and now half the work is already done!

Oh and now I can wash dishes, do laundry AND flush the toilet all on the same day!

Kai's Big Boy Bed

Eli loves to climb into Kai's crib and sleep and play with his brother. I unfortunately am scared that during the climbing process someone might get hurt. Kai is almost ready to climb out and all that up and over has broken the side rail and its just a matter of time before someone falls. So to prevent all this Brian and I decided that at only 15 months old Kai was ready to sleep in a big boy bed just like his big brother.

Got our tools!

First night before the crib was taken out

Sleeping like a .....well......Baby

Its kind of bittersweet to not have "baby"stuff around anymore, and even though Kai is still a baby, he sure does his best to keep up with his older brother. Kinda sad to think that their room now looks like to little guys live there instead of what they really are, my babies!

Lumberjacks can wear pink, right?

Brian's mom had some issues with a huge oak tree in her yard and down it needed to come. So after the tree guys were there Brian and I went over to help mom out and bust it up into enough firewood to keep her house toasty for the next few years!
