Battle in the bathroom

Some things are inevitable. kids are going to keep growing, we are all going to get old, and your going to run out of toothpaste.

In our house I am proud to admit that I have a stockpile of toothpaste. Probably a enough to last us a year or so. All obtained for free due in part to great sales and coupons.

So it makes me wonder why that when the toothpaste gets to the end of the tube Brian can't seem to ever get a new one and replace it. He literally keeps trying to get more and more out of the flat empty one in the cabinet. It makes me wonder if he is unsure where we keep the backup paste and is waiting for me to do, or if its more of a man thing to never get the new one, this seems to happen with soap too.

Usually I get fed up with the whole process and grab a new tube but this time I thought I would make it a test to see if he actually knew where the new one were or if he is just being overly frugal and really trying to get the last bit out of the tube. So it became a standoff, a epic battle in the bathroom.

I won!

day at the beach

despite the gloomy gray weather we ventured to the beach to "fish" and throw rocks. they boys really love to go the beach and toss rocks into the water. It's always a contest to see who can throw theirs the furthest. Of course Eli likes this game since he always wins, unless daddy gets involved! They also brought their poles and Eli practiced casting. I think we are going to have a awesome fisherman in the family someday. I think I better start researching fish frying recipes.

Love this boy!

PARTY, PARTY, PARTY!

okay so it wasn't like a scene from some wild teenage movie, hey these are good kids, but it was a great time. Beret and Zach had their graduation party at the house last Friday and invited friends from both high schools and the NJROTC. Everyone had a great time and the hot tub got a good workout being overflowed with teenagers!

And a party around here wouldnt be complete with homebaked treats! I had so much fun with these, thanks guys for letting me contribute!

The spread! thats Jello popcorn in the jars, yum, yum!

I made this awesome cake with thanks to Icing Imagesfor printing out the edible picture.

This beuatiful surprised face is because the grad also turned 18 the day of the party and I made her a special birthday cake

TADA!

The new Grad!

Beret made it! The little girl grew up and graduated from high school. It has been so great to watch her become the woman she is and I am just so immensely proud. I also think its so cool that all the girls in our family graduated from the same high school. Beret will now be here to watch the boys throughout the summer while I work and come October she is off to start an exciting career in the Navy. Literally the whole world is waiting for her!

Congratulations Beret!

In the nose bleed section!

All the grads from both MPHS AND MGHS

Beret getting her diploma

Zach (Bear's boyfriend) getting his diploma

Turn your back for an instant

okay its more like a couple minutes (I needed a shower!) and come out to a popcorn machine explosion in my couch! I should add this was all sticky kettle corn too, ugh what a mess.

finally!

The weather in Seattle has been nothing but cold and wet. I cant remember a year this bad in the 18+ years I have lived here. Usually by the end of April we have the garden planted an by now are seeing massive growth. This year it was still cold enough to snow in April and May wasn't getting any better. Then next thing you know its June. Its still cold but not freezing so I planted everything and I guess we will see how it goes. Its going to be a short season but maybe we will get something. Here's hoping!

I would make a good supervisor!

Look a pet! We called him Wilson.

Memorial day weekend

Okay so it was weeks ago but I have had a lot of catching up to do. Seems now since I am working again, even if its only part time, I am so much busier and finding time to update this little blog has been pushed aside.

Memorial day weekend for us was a trip east over the mountains to twisp. Brians sister needed us to come help move her out of her apartment and so in the truck we piled and took our first long roadtrip.

The boys did great and they didnt even nap, I for sure thought they would. On our way over the mountains we stopped in to strech near the puget sound energy damn and what did we see when we pulled in?

you could even ring the bell!

Way cool!

After a few more hours we arrived in Twisp and stopped to see how much work was ahead of us in the packing department and set up a game plan. The boys got to meet Auntie Janice's horse, they were in love at first sight. i hope they dont think they will ever get a pet horse, maybe a dog, someday.

Then we headed to the hotel. First stop POOL! All Eli could talk about the whole drive there was the pool. This from a boy who cant swim and as of last year was scared of pools. So in we went.

He did well but is still scared. Hopefully this summer we can teach him how to swim.

We worked hard and got everything moved into storage and then it was time to head home again. One thing I love about living here in Washington is that it doesnt take but a short drive to see the most beautiful snow capped mountains. What a gorgeous drive we had over highway 20 as we headed for the home.

Once home we celebrated Memorial Day and it just wouldnt be Memorial day in Seattle with out a backyard BBQ in polar fleece!
